What are the advantages of purchasing a metal roof instead of a more traditional roof?

  •     The number one reason to purchase a metal roof is the economical advantage....Asphalt shingles have a typical lifespan of 3 to 7 years, wood shingles can last up to 15 years. Where a properly manufactured and installed metal roof will potentially outlast the rest of the building. Although the initial price of a metal roof may be more than a traditional roof, the investment will be well worth it.

  •   Asphalt and wood shingles absorb the sun's heat, causing the building to become hotter. Metal roofing reflects the sun's heat. Therefore less heat is transferred into the building, and less energy is required to keep the building at the optimal temperature.

  •   Metal resists mildew, algae, termites and other pest that attack wood shingles.

  •   Metal is durable yet lightweight. Asphalt can weigh up to 20 times more. Slate, clay and concrete are heavier yet.

  •   In most cases metal can be applied directly over you're shingle roof. This eliminates the tear off price.
